I am sorry about my week hiatus from blogging. I was on vacation for a few days and have been really struggling to catch up at work.

My next stop on this MN world wind tour is Vergas MN. Like many other MN towns, this town has a significant Scandinavian descent. This has been traditionally a Swedish community. They have chosen to show their unique and rich heritage by putting a giant Loon on the edge of town (surprise! another oversize bird). Vergas is a very small town that is bookend with two lakes. One is called Loon lake and the other is called Long lake. Guess which one has the loon statue? anybody??? You guessed it, its Long Lake. Apparently it makes perfect sense to Scandinavians.
