I had an all around kick ass weekend. I was able to be productive around the house/yard but yet still found time to have fun. Friday night there was a work party that had ok entertainment but the food was good. On Saturday morning my wife and i worked on our lake shore cleaning it up and making brush piles to burn. It was sunny and about 70 Saturday so just about anything a person did outside was enjoyable. Saturday afternoon we went to Zorbaz and had supper. the atmosphere was great and it really felt like it was summer out. that night, after Lily went to bed, we hung out in the garage playing pool (thanks to Moody) and living it up. Sunday afternoon after the clouds cleared up and Lily went to bed we put our dock in the lake and watched the sunset.

I am heading up to the 'North Shore' Thursday night and coming back Sunday. It will be Three days of camping and hiking so this should be another fun and full weekend.

With being married, having kids and a career i don't have as many opportunities to have a 'guys' weekend hiking so i really look forward to it. Once Lily gets a little older we can start taking her camping too. but until then we will have to stick with our little 2-3 mile hikes with her.

It is official.... i have full blown spring fever. it seemed like winter would never end and i am not all that convinced that it is over. On Saturday i played a couple hours of basketball in Moorhead with the old 'click' and on Sunday i went for a two mile hike with the family. In two weeks i plan on spending three days camping and hiking the north shore. it is a bit early to be going up there but i cant help it, and the weekend after that i am camping with my brother on some land i own.

In MN you have such a small window of when the weather is actually nice outside that i feel compelled to make the most of it when i can.

I just scanned in a few pictures of my daughter that i am going to post on to here. which i have mixed feelings about. i mostly want to blog about how much the president is a dick head and how i plan on getting drunk and running around naked. so adding her into the mix is not in line to any of that but as it is 'my' blog i guess i can do what ever i want to do. she is the most dear thing to me and is the one thing that keeps me grounded.

Let me know who or what is dear to you. I know for Moody it his extensive Ninja Turtle collection.

I haven't posted in a while so, sorry to those faithful readers of mine (both of you).

I have been trying to turn the corner on eating better and exercising more. In general i want to live a more active lifestyle which includes less television and more outside activities. Now mind you I am not in terrible shape or do i even eat all that bad, but i know i can do better. As most Americans go we are willing to put in better gas or oil into our cars but when it comes to our own bodies we think nothing of running through Mc Donald's or throwing in a pizza quick for super.

Some of the major reasons for this, which i can truly relate with, is that with two working parents its hard to find the time to make a decent meal. its so much quicker to make something easy and be done with it. It also cheaper spending $3.50 on fast food then buying quality groceries to make a well rounded meal.

I am making the conscious effort to eat better by planning ahead so that we can be better prepared in making better meals. also not watching TV for the sake of something to do. there is a whole world out there and i find the experiences and the times i am hiking, biking, snowshoeing, canoeing...etc are some of my richest experiences.

Friday nights show at the Varsity Theater in Dinky town was bad ass. i knew Cloud Cult were going to be great but what help complete the show was the two opening acts. the first of which was a guy and a girl called Kaiser Cartel from Brooklyn. They were a two some who were very impressive and would constantly change instruments. they both sang but the female was exceptionally outstanding. They were a mellower version of the White Strips. The second act was a a three some called Hot IQ. when they first strutted on stage with this super hot Asian drummer i thought it was some kind of gimmick to attract an audience but on the contrary in was nothing of the sort that girl could play. she had super long bangs that covered her face and chomped away on bubble gum which added to her cuteness. but when it came down to it i was very impressed with their performance and so much so i went and bought one of their Cd's. They sounded a lot like The Strokes. They were from Denver CO.

For those of you who haven't ever been to the Varsity Theater its a very eclectic and small venue (300 people max). there is elevated platforms on the sides of the room with over sized couches and beds. this really compliments cloud cults music. i was again blown away at by their performance and this caps off two great shows in two weeks for me.
